Biography: The Reverend Brian Murray
Brian is a psychotherapist and educator based in Aurora, Ontario. He is the President of Humanitas Inc. which provides consulting and training services in employee assistance to corporations.
Brian is a co-founder along with First Officer Harry Kent (AIR CANADA) of the Pilot Assistance Program. This program has existed for close to forty years and used in most major commercial airlines in Canada. Brian also worked with CATCA to establish their ATC substance abuse intervention and relapse support program, now resourced by Dr. Bill Jacyk MD at NavCanada.
Brian has worked with a number of U.S. airlines, including Delta, Jet Blue, American Eagle, FedEx, Southwest in assisting in the training of their Pilot Assistants. In addition, Brian has helped South African Airline Pilot’s Association, and most recently, Israel Airline Pilots Association in establishing their own Pilot Assistance program.
Brian is known among pilots as a therapist whose practice is focused upon relationships and trauma. Brian is registered in the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He is retired as a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Recently, Brian completed his training for board certification in Neurofeedback Training.
